Bob Bernard is a 30-year veteran of the banking industry on Long Island. He is currently a Senior Vice President and Long Island Regional Manager in People’s United Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group. Bob and his team are responsible for building relationships with local commercial real estate owners and developers, negotiating financing solutions, and serving the client’s depository needs. Prior to People’s United Bank, Bob spent nearly 17 years at Capital One Bank and its predecessor, North Fork Bank. Bob also spent 7 years with New York Community Bank.
Bob attended St. John’s University where he obtained an MBA in Finance and Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Bob grew up in Hauppauge and now resides in Commack. He has been married for 27 years and has two children, Melissa aged 21 and Christopher aged 17.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Sustainable Long Island, Bob is also on the Board of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Suffolk and The Real Estate Institute at Stony Brook University. Bob is also active in many trade organizations including the Long Island Builder’s Institute, Association for a Better Long Island, Long Island Real Estate Group, Long Island Association, International Council of Shopping Centers and the Queens & Bronx Building Association.
