2017 Greentree Good Neighnbor Fund Grantee Luncheon

On Monday, June 19th, 2017, Sustainable Long Island (SLI) attended the 14th Annual Greentree Good Neighbor Fund Grantee Luncheon in Manhasset, NY. The Greentree Foundation Good Neighbor Fund has made a generous grant of $7,000 to Sustainable Long Island. The funding will go directly to SLI’s  food equity work in New Cassel.

In July 2003, the Greentree Foundation, founded by the late Mrs. John Hay Whitney of Manhasset, established the “Greentree Good Neighbor Fund.” To date, the Greentree Foundation has granted $2,497,400 to charitable groups and other tax-exempt organizations that address priority needs facing the communities of the Town of North Hempstead. Recipients of these funds are determined by a special committee of the Manhasset Community Fund.

The Board and Staff of Sustainable Long Island would like to thank the Greentree Foundation  for ensuring SLI’s food equity programs in New Cassel continue to prosper within the Town of North Hempstead.
