Manager of Communications and Events
Gabrielle Lindau joined the organization in July 2016 as Manager of Communications and Events. In her role as Manager of Communications and Events, she is responsible for managing all media and events, along with advertising and marketing opportunities for Sustainable Long Island.
Gabrielle was born and raised on Long Island. At a young age she developed a strong connection to the region’s wildlife, beaches, parks, and farms. After exhibiting an ongoing passion for documenting nature and societal life on Long Island, Gabrielle moved to Manhattan to pursue her studies in media and communications. Upon completion of her academic career she went on to work for a number of businesses including the Estée Lauder Companies, where she served on the international “Green Committee” and was the official “Green Delegate” for her office building. Later she moved on to working with EnerDel where she had the opportunity to gain firsthand experience marketing and communicating the early capabilities of lithium-ion battery operated mass transit vehicles.
In 2015, Gabrielle was asked to join the International Conference on Sustainable Development held at Columbia University during NYC Climate Week. Gabrielle’s panel discussion provided a platform for sharing practical evidence-based solutions in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were agreed upon at the United Nations immediately following the conference. In 2016, the New York State Assembly recognized Gabrielle for her work both professionally and personally with their annual “Woman of Distinction” award.
Gabrielle has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the New School University and she attended a two year Master of Communications residency program at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.
