Robert Bernard

Bob Bernard is a 25-year veteran of the banking industry including the past 13 years with Capital One Bank and its predecessor, North Fork Bank.  Prior to joining Capital One he spent 7 years with New York Community Bank. 

Bob is currently a Senior Vice President and relationship manager in Capital One’s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group where he leads the Long Island team.  Bob and his team are responsible for building relationships with local commercial real estate owners and developers and negotiating financing solutions that are tailored to meet the objectives of both the client and the bank.

Bob attended St. John’s University where he obtained an MBA in Finance and Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.

Bob grew up in Hauppauge and now resides in Commack.  He has been married for 23 years and has two children, Melissa aged 17 and Christopher aged 13.

Bob is on the Board of Directors of Sustainable Long Island and he is active in fundraising efforts for United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Suffolk where his son attends school.  Bob is also active in many trade organizations including the Long Island Builder’s Institute, Association for a Better Long Island, Long Island Real Estate Group, Long Island Association, International Council of Shopping Centers and the Queens & Bronx Building Association.
