Pat Edwards

Pat Edwards joined Citibank in November 1996 as a New Business Development Officer and moved into the Commercial Markets Not For Profit Financial Group in November 1998.  In this role as a Vice President Relationship Manager, Pat was responsible for identifying, developing and cultivating new lending opportunities to Middle Market Not for Profit organizations throughout the Greater Metropolitan area and Long Island. In January 2004 she joined the Community Relations Group to serve as a liaison between community-based organizations and the Bank with a primary focus on Affordable Home Ownership, Community Development, Small Business Development and Financial Education. In this short time, Pat has strategically identified and focus her efforts on strengthening existing partnerships with not for profit organizations. In June 2006 she was promoted to Community Relations Director for Queens County and in January 2009 Pat was transferred back to Long Island to assume full management of the Long Island geography.   

Pat Edwards has spent her entire professional career in banking.  She began as an entry-level platform assistant in the early 80's with National Bank of North America.  NBNA was acquired by National Westminster Bank USA and it was this institution that formulated the basis for her longevity and career.  Within Nat West she held positions of authority including Corp. Banking Operations Manager, Special Loans-Work Out Operations Officer, Special Loans Officer -responsible for renegotiating and restructuring small business and corporate loans. The last part of Pat’s time spent with NATWEST/ Fleet Bank was in the Small Business Administration Lending Group.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science/Business Math from SUNY Binghamton.  She also completed the NatWest Bank Loan Officer Development and Credit Training Program.

Pat is a native Long Islander, has been married to Michael J. Edwards for 24 years. She has two children Michael Jr. and Theresa Ariel. In 2008 the family relocated to East Meadow, New York after living in Central Islip for 16 years.

She is an active member of St. John of God Roman Catholic Church in Central Islip where she serves as a lecture, a Christian Mother, Ministry of Catholic of African Ancestry and the Society of St. de Paul.  Pat is also the Chairperson of the St. John of God RC Church Finance Committee and the Co-Chairperson of the Capital Campaign to restore the 105 year old church.

She is an active parent and fundraiser for Our Lady of Providence Regional School, St.Martin de Porres Marinist Brother School and St. Anthony’s High School,  where both of her children have attended school. Pat has worked closely with the Central Islip Little League where her husband is the Treasurer of the Board. 

Pat has served as a member of the Board of Directors of:

  • Administrative Board of the Far Rockaway Empire Zone (NYC of the Mayor Appointment-(6/07-present)
  • Opportunities for Industrialization Center of Suffolk ,
  • United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County Women’s Auxiliary Council.
  • Suffolk Community Council, Inc.
  • She works closely in an advisory capacity with the Executive Director and Curator of the Nassau County African American Museum in Hempstead New York.
  • Middle Country Library Foundation and the Advisory Council of Literacy Suffolk Inc.
  • United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Suffolk
  • Pat continues to serve as a Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Urban League of Long Island
  • Chairperson of the St. John of God Finance Committee.
  • Served as a member of the Board of Director of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (SCIDA) until June 2008.  Resignation tendered and replacement required due to change in residency from Suffolk to Nassau County.
  • In September 2006 she was appointed to the Board of Queens Library Foundation and Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC). In February 2007 she was appointed to the Far Rockaway Empire Development Zone Board and the Executive Committee / Finance Chair of the QEDC. As a result of her transfer to Long Island Pat will resign from the Board.
  • In February 2008 Pat was appointed to the Board of Flushing / Willets Point LDC. As a result of her transfer to Long Island Pat will resign from the Board (2/09)
  • She was recently appointed to the Board of the Long Island Housing Partnership in Hauppauge New York
